Dr. Abhinav “Bobby” Chhabra is a nationally recognized orthopaedic hand surgeon, academic leader, and educator. As a key figure at UVA Orthopaedics Center, Dr. Bobby Chhabra has helped shape the future of orthopaedic surgery through his leadership, innovation, and dedication to advancing musculoskeletal health. His work spans clinical practice, academic medicine, and institutional leadership, making him one of the most respected voices in his field.

Dr. Bobby Chhabra’s medical training started with a general surgery internship at the University of Virginia, followed by an orthopaedic research fellowship and a full orthopaedic surgery residency at the same institution. He further specialized through a fellowship in hand, microvascular, and congenital hand surgery at the Hand Center of San Antonio and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. He also completed executive leadership training at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, strengthening his capacity for organizational leadership.

Dr. Chhabra has contributed to a wide range of peer-reviewed publications focusing on hand surgery, orthopaedic trauma, tissue engineering, and surgical outcomes. His scholarly work has advanced understanding in areas such as fracture management, nerve injuries, and postoperative complications.
